Woody and Lisa

So Woody and Lisa got married last weekend and I was honered to be asked to be in the wedding. That being the case I couldn’t offically take photos at their wedding, but I had my camera with me and managed to get around 600 photos taken. Here’s my photos
Time Warner sucks

Off my music norms… I should have lisetened to Eric. Since we moved and got a new flat screen tv we wanted to get cable. Got Time Warner with HD and a DVR, was told HD/DVR was free. We got the bill today and we are being charged for it. So we called them up. [...]
Finally Home
Well, what we are calling home for now anyway. Gretchen and I are back in Raleigh. I go to Bonnaroo next week to shoot it for the 6th year. I’ll be posting up photos from there once I hit the ground. We close on our house here on June 26, then it’s up to Ohio [...]
477 W. Main St.

So we’re in contract for this house. 477 W. Main St. in Kent, Ohio. It’s in the historic district and right down the street from all sorts of restaurants, bars and the booming Kent night life. This is provided our house in Raleigh gets though inspection. The person buying the house has been a pain [...]
blogging not so much, but stay tuned….

Ok, reason I haven’t been blogging much is because we have finally officially put our house up for sale. So, buy my house, here’s the listing. Gretchen and I have been running around cleaning and getting the house ready. I was even outside mowing the lawn in the rain. To add to everything Gretchen and [...]
Bisti Badlands, NM

I’ve been visiting in New Mexico since this past Tuesday. Yesterday Moe and I went to visit the Bisti badlands in the northwest part of the state. It’s hard to explain other then it feels like another planet. Almost like the first Star Wars. Here’s a photo, I’ll have more later as I edit through [...]
Spam WTF?
Ok, I normally just delete spam I get. For some reason I read this one, no idea why. But there was no links, nothing attached, so why the fuck would you send a message like this? It doesn’t sell anything and it sure as hell doesn’t make any sense. Anyone else get anything out of [...]
Back to Ohio

Gretchen is almost done with grad school (in May). But she already got a job at Kent St. So we’ll be on our way back to Ohio sometime before Aug. Look out out for Professor Rinnert! She actually got offers from them and Belmont in Nashville, which we actually wanted to go to, but the [...]
Sweet, my house
View Larger Map Looks like we’ve made Google Map’s Streetview. Pretty cool, you can see our Mini and the Jeep in the driveway. Can’t believe they did the Triangle before other regions. How do you get the job to drive the car around taking photos of all the streets in the US anyway? Sounds fun.
Chipped Tooth

So I chipped my tooth yesterday working on my Jeep. Got it fixed today thankfully. Still a bit sensitive but it looks normal now. Never really hurt much and I missed my lip with the wrench. Anyway, I had to take photos of course.
Look, more dog photos

Since the puppy photos seem to be so popular I figured I’ll show some more. Not my photos or my dogs, this is Scout’s little brother Indy short for Indiana (“We called the dog Indiana”). He is the runt of the litter and has the dog version of a cleft palate. He’s been bottle fed [...]
Bored in Raleigh?

Ok, I don’t know if it because we live in the south or what, but please. Do you want to go to McDonald’s for Jazz and Poetry? Ya, me either. Gretchen and I passed this sign earlier this week and I just had to take photo of it. Sheesh, what is this world coming to? [...]
Trouble….

I’ve been shooting all day, but these I took a few days ago. Someone just now asked about more photos of Scout. So, here ya go. Growing like a weed she is.
Coffee Stout!
Mmmmm…the two great tastes that taste great together. My favorite Raleigh brewery, Big Boss has made Coffee stout made with Larry’s Beans, hard to beat. Here’s a video…..
Recording Session

My band Early Morning Swim, went to the studio yesterday. I’m fairly tired today. We got their around 3:00 and left at 10:00. I think I played drums for about 4 1/2 to 5 hours strait. Here’s a few photos.
Pay the Writer
OK, this video has been goign around quite a few photographer forums and I also wanted to post it here. Pretty much, you should expect to not get paid for your work. if your a writer, photographer, musician, whatever…it’s your work and a “byline” or the thrill of seeing your work published is not enough. [...]
5 dangerous things you should let your kids do
Great talk. I don’t have kids yet, but at some point I will and I’ll probably follow similar standards, much to the dismay of their grandparents. I took chances when I was a kid, explored outdoors, took things apart, didn’t sit in front of a TV or video game all a day, and most of [...]
Ian’s Peace

Travis Long, video photojournalist for The News and Observer here in the triangle (and also one of my neighbors) created this piece several weeks ago but I’ve just gotten around to putting it up. Ian’s Peace is beautiful, sad, wonderful and heart breaking, everything good journalism should be.  You can also check out Travis’ blog, [...]
Chrismas gift idea

For the techno geek that has to have everything and still wants good cooking. The George Foreman USB iGrill from ThinkGeek. At $99 not bad considering it runs completely from power from you computer through the USB cable and has a program on your computer that tells it how to cook your food. from the [...]
Saturday after Thanksgiving
I’m 33 today. For some reason it seems like an odd age. Kinda an in between age. not young, not old. So today I decided to go outside and read the new Douglas Coupland book Gretchen gave me. The character talks about being 32 was the last he remembers being creative. So does this mean [...]
Halloween

So for this year’s festivities we had a party on this past Saturday. Moe made it in from New Mexico and Steph made it in from Charlotte (their costumes in the links). Lots of good costumes and drinks…mmm hot cider and rum, among other things. I had the studio in pre-set up to shoot costumes. [...]
