I should have lisetened to Eric. Since we moved and got a new flat screen tv we wanted to get cable. Got Time Warner with HD and a DVR, was told HD/DVR was free. We got the bill today and we are being charged for it. So we called them up. Basically, after being transferred 4 times and alot of rude customer service reps. I canceled my service. Apparently they had no record of them promising free HD/DVR and wouldn’t even take my conformation number from when I ordered it. My bill was coming total almost $74 a month for cable, the same price DirecTV with HBO, Showtime and 265 other channels I won’t watch. Gretchen and I just wanted basic cable and don’t want to pay $74 a month for it.
I can’t believe a company the size of Time Warner wouldn’t even try to keep me as a customer. When I was told there was nothing they could do, I told them to cancel my cable. “Ok” she told me, nothing to even try to make a customer happy.
So ya, screw your Time Warner Cable. While I still have their high speed internet, I’m very, very actively looking for a replacement. But for my and Gretchen’s work we need to have something faster then DSL. If only the faster and cheaper Verizon FIOS service where more widely available. Though I am looking into their EVDO service.
Well, what we are calling home for now anyway. Gretchen and I are back in Raleigh. I go to Bonnaroo next week to shoot it for the 6th year. I’ll be posting up photos from there once I hit the ground. We close on our house here on June 26, then it’s up to Ohio and we close on our house there on July 1. We’ll be living out of our moving truck for a few days in Columbus and will most likely be at ComFest on Sunday. Give me a call if you’d like to meet up. Wish us luck packing, 3 weeks and counting. The road trip is finally over.
So we’re in contract for this house. 477 W. Main St. in Kent, Ohio. It’s in the historic district and right down the street from all sorts of restaurants, bars and the booming Kent night life. This is provided our house in Raleigh gets though inspection. The person buying the house has been a pain in the ass, but we just got a back up offer for almost the same as our first offer, so we should be good to go. We’ll close on the house in Raleigh on June 26 and close on the house Kent on July 1. More details? The house was built in 1875, has gone through extensive renovation over the last few years, including a new kitchen, master bath, 2nd and 1st floor baths and most of the down stairs. At the moment it has two kitchens, well the cabinets, sink and dishwasher. Not sure what to do with it yet. Anyway, if you’d like to see everything I took, here’s more photos.
Ok, reason I haven’t been blogging much is because we have finally officially put our house up for sale. So, buy my house, here’s the listing. Gretchen and I have been running around cleaning and getting the house ready. I was even outside mowing the lawn in the rain.
To add to everything Gretchen and I are taking off in the Mini and driving across the U.S.A. to the Grand Canyon and back. We leave in the morning and who knows when we’ll be back. We are stopping in KY, Nashville, possibly Dallas, Albuquerque, to the Grand Canyon, then back through Utah (watch out for polygamists!) to Denver and somehow back to Ohio to check houses out in NE Ohio. I’ll be making updates with photos along the way.
I’ve been visiting in New Mexico since this past Tuesday. Yesterday Moe and I went to visit the Bisti badlands in the northwest part of the state. It’s hard to explain other then it feels like another planet. Almost like the first Star Wars. Here’s a photo, I’ll have more later as I edit through them.
Ok, I normally just delete spam I get. For some reason I read this one, no idea why. But there was no links, nothing attached, so why the fuck would you send a message like this? It doesn’t sell anything and it sure as hell doesn’t make any sense. Anyone else get anything out of this cluster fuck of words? Some people should never had been born.
A spanish translation of it by father francisco play on the

seen it in the bible, and sometimes, you know, i did feel

Gretchen is almost done with grad school (in May). But she already got a job at Kent St. So we’ll be on our way back to Ohio sometime before Aug. Look out out for Professor Rinnert! She actually got offers from them and Belmont in Nashville, which we actually wanted to go to, but the program is much better at Kent St and the offer was better. She deserves it though, she’s been working way too hard like 80-90 hours a week, had her oral review today (She passed!). Anyway, have to go finish the bathroom floor so we can sell this house. If you know anyone that needs a photographer after this fall, let me know. I plan on working Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh and Toledo.
Looks like we’ve made Google Map’s Streetview. Pretty cool, you can see our Mini and the Jeep in the driveway. Can’t believe they did the Triangle before other regions. How do you get the job to drive the car around taking photos of all the streets in the US anyway? Sounds fun.
So I chipped my tooth yesterday working on my Jeep. Got it fixed today thankfully. Still a bit sensitive but it looks normal now. Never really hurt much and I missed my lip with the wrench. Anyway, I had to take photos of course.
Since the puppy photos seem to be so popular I figured I’ll show some more. Not my photos or my dogs, this is Scout’s little brother Indy short for Indiana (“We called the dog Indiana”). He is the runt of the litter and has the dog version of a cleft palate. He’s been bottle fed since birth in November, but is doing very well. Gretchen’s aunt, uncle and cousin have done a great job with him. The 2nd photo is of Scout, Parsnip, and Indy’s parents playing with a bone. Scout defiantly has their red color.
Ok, I don’t know if it because we live in the south or what, but please. Do you want to go to McDonald’s for Jazz and Poetry? Ya, me either. Gretchen and I passed this sign earlier this week and I just had to take photo of it. Sheesh, what is this world coming to? We did get a good laugh out of it though.
I’ve been shooting all day, but these I took a few days ago. Someone just now asked about more photos of Scout. So, here ya go.
Growing like a weed she is.
Mmmmm…the two great tastes that taste great together. My favorite Raleigh brewery, Big Boss has made Coffee stout made with Larry’s Beans, hard to beat. Here’s a video…..
My band Early Morning Swim, went to the studio yesterday. I’m fairly tired today. We got their around 3:00 and left at 10:00. I think I played drums for about 4 1/2 to 5 hours strait. Here’s a few photos.
