Saturday after Thanksgiving

November 24th, 2007 by Bryan

I’m 33 today.  For some reason it seems like an odd age.  Kinda an in between age.  not young, not old.  So today I decided to go outside and read the new Douglas Coupland book Gretchen gave me.  The character talks about being 32 was the last he remembers being creative. So does this mean I’m no longer going to be creative?  For me, I don’t think so.  In many ways I think I’m just getting started.

For me, I feel like I was creative in High School, though more so in College.  Then I went to work for AOL.  I was occasionally creative.  too a while to really start shooting again.  But even then it was more work and part creative.  But it took a while for me to stop.  Then I finally left. But I think creativity is slowly coming back to me, kinda takes practice.  In the next few months I going to put more into creating a book for my AOL photos, going to take a bit but I might test while a few things here and hopefully getting good feed back from people I’m a few people here.  Ok, I’m back to the beautiful NC, November day and reading my book on th porch.

First of all, Happy belated birthday! I had my phone off for 5 days and hadn’t even missed it till I went to check the time this morning. I then realized what day it was and felt bad, I had set your B-day in my calender but with the phone off…

Short version, I’m an asshole. Not ground breaking news there.

I have always, and continue to, considered you to be a creative person. Gretchen as well. I think as long as you find ways to stimulate your mind you never truly lose that. Although adulthood and responsibility does damper it a bit. We are probably at our most creative in the teen years, but I’ll take the loss of some creativity to be rid of acne and raging hormones.

    Happy late B-day.

I must be more of an asshole than Moe, seeing as how I do not have your DOB on any calander. I know that you and Woody are close together in November and Moe, Tonya, and Mona are the 14th, 15th, and 16th in June. Not sure which order though. I think that I am lucky to remember my own birthday these days. I swear, if Jessica wasn’t there to remind me I would have forgotten this year.
