Happy ComFest
June 21st, 2007 by Bryan

So, once again it’s almost ComFest time. When most everyone in Columbus (and beyond) comes down to Goodale Park and wonders around listening to music and drinks way too much. I haven’t yet recovered from Bonnaroo and it starts tomorrow. So if you live in CBus, there’s no excuse for not coming out. Heck, I live in Raleigh now and I’m still going. I’m volunteering on Friday from 11:00 to 2:30 at the Gazebo stage doing stage crew. ComFest is the largest non-corporate run, all volunteer run music festival in the entire US. Come down and have fun, or I’ll have to do it for you, which no one really wants to see.

Hey Brian! Fantastic photography, as always! Sorry we missed you while you were in town. We were in S.C. with the kids. ‘Feversmile’ eh? Where’d ya get that name from?

From Bonnaroo to Comfest? You are a concert-going machine.

I wish I had the time to go to concerts. I can’t wait for Rush in September. Snakes and Arrows is becoming one of my ‘go to’ albums. Mellow, but really done well. Anyway, next time you are in town, you should let us know so that we can feed you.

Thanks, it’s hard to visit everyone while I’m up. I have to add at this point that people should actually stay home for Comfest, this year it felt out of control, way too many people. Either the city needs to embrace the festival and not fight it so much (traffic, buses, parking) or the festival needs to be smaller, attendance and drinking, not stages and music. They even ran out of mugs on Saturday night, they almost always have some left over from the previous year. Anyway, I’ll always love ComFest, but maybe not tall the people, maybe next year I’ll try to get a booth and sell my music photos, then I can make $ off all the suburbanites that make their way downtown once or twice a year.
