bonnaroo schedule
My picks.
Thursday.
Why Thursday, because this is the first year I plan to be there on Thursday and ready to see shows. I reccomened everyone else do it as well.
Single reason? Comedy Tent.
If you where at Bonnaroo last year and tried to go see Lewis Black or any other comedians, you probably didn’t make it. The lines where 2 to 3 hours long and they turned away more people then actually go to see the shows. This year Lewis Black & Friends Starring: John Bowman, Lynne Koplitz, Finesse Mitchell will be play shows at 6:30 and 8:15 AND David Cross plus Aziz Ansari & Nick Kroll will be playing shows at 10:00 and 11:45. They will also be doing shows on Friday, but I’m sure the crowds will be alot larger. Dave Attell will be giving shows at the Comedy tent as well, but not until Saturday and Sunday.
The ten is air conditioned, it has chairs, it’s are great way to start off Bonnaroo by relaxing and laughing your ass off. I’m sure you’ll still need to get there early to make the shows, but what else are you doing on Thursday?
The only other show I have a little interest in seeing early is Ryan Shaw at 7:15, but I really don’t have to see him or stay for the entire thing. I will probably try check out The Little Ones, The Black Angels, Sam Roberts Band, Apollo Sunshine, and Clutch if I stay up that late. What’s everyone else’s take on Thursday?

I’m so very excited Sam Roberts is on Thursday night. We should definately make plans to see this one together. That goes for you too Paul!

I also forgot to mention Tea Leaf Green which is playing 11:45-1:15. I have not gotten to listen to them yet, but my friend Keith has been raving about them, so I’ll probably be checking this out too. And Apollo Sunshine. What time are you guys leaving C-bus?

So far the plan is to leave Columbus around noon, but knowing us that will probably change. We’re getting a hotel room that night, probably around Chatanooga, and then getting up early enough Thur. to get there when they open the gates, which if I’m not mistaken is 7am. Last year we pretty much drove right in no problem. The entrance we use is right off the highway and it’s how we’ve gotten such great camping spots the last couple years. So if you guys want to meet us at the hotel that would be cool, that way we could drive in together and camp next to each other. I would love nothing more! Let me know what everyone in your group thinks and hopefully we can work something out. Peace!

I’m not going but if I were I would be torn between Lewis Black and Clutch. I think I will compromise and rent a DVD of both and enjoy a nice cold beer on my comfortable couch in the air conditioning before sleeping in my nice soft bed.

Man, that lineup of comedy is almost worth going just for Thursday! I think I’ll make like MOe though - I’m way too old and suburban and lame.
