workin on the beach
April 25th, 2007 by Bryan
This past Monday I jumped in the Jeep, threw the kayak on top and headed for the coast. Our State magazine was looking for photos of NC Piers. It sounded like a good excuse to drive around the coast and photograph. I hit Atlantic Beach first, then down to Emerald Isle where I camped next to the ocean, past a huge Marine base and then down to Wilmington. Really nice drive, found several piers and took lots of photos, here they are, let me know what you think.

BR,
I grew up going to those beaches…I remember when those piers were all destroyed by the hurricanes in the late ’90’s.
This is an awesome story! Looks good.

Thanks John, was fun trip down the coast. One of the piers had older “stumps” where it looks like they had to replace many of the main supports going to the ground. Now I just hope Our State picks up a few images, or from my Lumberton, NC photos.

Going to the beach, camping, taking pictures… sounds like the unemployed life is rough on you.
At least you’re not taking pictures of yourself in the shower anymore.

You got talent. I really like your pictures. How great it is to combine your work with kayaking and camping. Neither which I get to do very often any more nor do I see in my near feature. I can’t wait to see your pictures in National Geographic some day.

Might have to wait a while for National Geographic, I think I’m actually closer to Sports Illustrated at this point. I am doing a shoot this weekend that will probably be in ESPN the Magazine though.
