I don't actually want to TALK to Bryan. Why would I want to do that? This works just a well. I can avoid all the mumblings and grunts. (Just kidding B).

You guys should just call each other. I just wanted to comment on the awesome ass line-up at Lollapalloza. It's like Bonnaroo, but better, Yeah Yeah Yeah's and Yo La Tengo especially. I know the chances are slim that I'll be able to go, but I haven't given up hope yet.

Ya skip most big shows now a days, and ya, mostly cause of the price. I wouldn't mind seeing Rush, though I might try to go shoot them, then I don't have to pay, and I get up close, well for a few songs.

Concert going may not have decreased, but there is definately fewer bands that go it on their own. Maybe not these days, but in the past I seem to remember some shows getting cancelled. I, for one, skip on several concerts that I would like to go to because it is SO damn expensive. I remember the first time seeing Rush was, like $30 a ticket. Total. For pretty good seats no less.

Yeah, the music industry is screwed up these days. I think the internet had alot to do with it. Free download s DEFINATELY caused some issues. Glad then chenged that. Still, it seems like more and more people are coming up with plays to get free music online. I think Cingular is giving a full year of free downloads with one of their phone packages. I don't see how bands can make $$. And what's wrong with American Idol? I joke.

I don't see a decrease in concert going, I just think some larger band...Rolling Stones, Eagles, etc are trying to make as much $ as possible. Bands for the most part make $ from touring and not much from actual record sales, you can thank the recording industry for that one. Lots of thing wrong with the music industry as a whole, I've dealt directly with labels while working at AOL, bunch of people who think they are more important then they actually are. Everything is about image and trying to make more money. Don't get me started on the whole hell bull shit that is American Idol. Anyway, I'm on a rant.

Ya, camping fees are included in Bonnaroo, though camping is not offered at Lollapalooza, but it is in downtown Chicago, don't think they want that many people camping out in Grant Park, logistical nightmare that would be. I think thats why Bonnaroo is on a 700 acre farm in the-middle-of-nowhere Tennessee.

Yeah, Tool rocked. I guess those multiple dollars are more worth it if it is a several day event. Does that mean that the lodging (camp site) is included in the total cost of the ticket?

I think a large part of the high price issue is the decrease in interest in concerts. That's why you see all of these 'fests' and 'loozas'. Add the fact that Ticketmaster if totally monopolizing the market and raping the public with fees, and you get high dollar costs. Stil, I gotta go see Rush.

Though I don't think $195 is bad for 3 days and that many bands, your right though ticket prices for concerts have gotten out of control. Sad, but it started with the Eagle's Hell Frozen Over Tour, tickets where well over $200 and they once said they would never charge that much. Bonnaroo is $246.35 with all the fees and crap, but still not bad for how many bands are playing, granted you can never see all of them, I normally average around 30 bands I shoot for the weekend though, that's still about $8 a band, though I don't pay when I get a press pass as well so it makes it even better.

I can't believe how much ticket prices are these days. When I went to Lolapalooza back in the day (didn't you go with me?) I think the tickets were less than $70. I just got Rush tickets and they were $140 for the pair.
