album of the year?

Ya you guessed is it, Kings of Leon back when I shot them at Bonnaroo 2005
Well, you don’t have to take my word for it. So if you haven’t gave it a listen, go out and do it, I’d recommend seeing them live this summer as well. ‘Because of the Times’ is getting rave reviews from everywhere, strait from their publicist:
Kings of Leon “Because of the Times” debuts at #25 in America; band’s biggest salesweek to date
Debuts at #1 in the UK for the first time
RCA Records is very excited to announce that Kings of Leon’s new record, “BECAUSE OF THE TIMES,” has debuted at #25 on the Billboard Top 200, selling 41,919. This is the band’s biggest one-week of sales in America to date, and doubles their prior best week. Kings of Leon mania has also spread to other parts of the world, debuting at #1 in the UK and New Zealand, #3 in Ireland and #4 in Australia. Currently touring in England, the band is about to kick off their American dates at the end of the month after performing on “The Tonight Show” and at the Coachella Festival. They will be performing on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” on June 4.
Media response to “Because Of The Times” has been glowing. “Rolling Stone” made the record its lead review, awarded it four stars and hailed “How good can the Kings of Leon get? On ‘Because Of The Times,’ they’ve already gone further than anybody could have guessed.” “Entertainment Weekly” called the new record a “sonically ambitious beast…an epic wide-screen movie of a CD and the band’s best to date,” while “Esquire” called it a “classic rock album in the truest sense…the apocalyptic vigor of the Clash and the sloppy soul of the Replacements.” “Alternative Press” said the album “kicks so much ass that it demands you respect them as new rock royalty,” and “Filter” called it “their finest confession to date.” In England, the “Observer Music Monthly” gave the record five stars and called it “honest and inspired,” while the “NME” said “this time the Kings won’t just fill big halls, they’ll blow them up.”

Album of the year? It’s too early to tell. We’ve had great albums from The Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, and the Kings so far this year but there’s so much more coming out. I think of Wilco’s Blue Sky Blue, and The Polyphonic Spree’s The Fragile Army which is being compared to their Tripping Daisy years (more guitar).
I will say that 2007 has been a great year in music so far!

True enough, but I can’t stop listening to it all the same. Though I did just get Bright Eyes from iTunes and it’s pretty good, lyrics are better then KOL, but overall KOL is damn good.

[...] We have already been talking about the greatness that has been released in the last month or so. Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes, and now I’m really digging the New Arctic Monkeys that came out [...]
