New Bright Eyes out today

Bright Eyes, someone else I’ve shot at Bonnaroo, new album, ‘Cassadaga’ is out today with much acclaim. I been listing to it this morning on AOL’s Full Listening party, though you’ll need to scroll to the right to find it. So far it sounds great, haunting strong vocals, complex layered melodies. The band is also on AOL’s Sessions today, great performances and interviews.
Side note, AOL Sessions is great, they have wonderful artists and shows on there, problem is, it’s built wrong, Flash was the right technology, but you can’t link to anything so you have to go to the archive to find anything and no one can link to a thing.
Anyway.
Gillian Welch, M. Ward and Janet Weiss contribute to Bright Eyes third album. It’s a great album which I’ll probably pick up in the next few days to break up my Kings of Leon obsession.

Well I was finally going to do a lil’ blogging on the new Bright Eyes today, but Bryan beat me to it. If you haven’t seen the video for Four Winds yet, here it is. It’s quite comical.

I might have to check out Brighteyes, but only because you say it’s good, I’ve always steered clear thinking I wouldn’t like it. The new Kings of Leon is amazing though. I can’t wait to see them again at roo. My fav song so far is Knocked Up

Bright Eyes lyrics are worth it alone. Some of him music on previous albums almost seemed unfinished, this one stands out to me as a more complete album and it may be how they approached making it. Overall of their strongest albums I would say.
